THE LATEST GEL NAILS AT THE HAIR & BEAUTY LOUNGE…

A full manicure with gels is £30 and consists of a hand soak, filing, shaping, and cleaning the nails, hand and forearm massage, application of gel nail, polish at your choice and top coat.

Many people worry about getting gels because they fear their nails won’t be able to breathe, but nails are actually dead to begin with, so they don’t need to breathe! Your nail beds and cuticles are what’s important — they’re made of living tissue and why you need to be careful.

A gel manicure does last longer than a regular manicure depending on which brand you use it can last anything from 2 weeks. At the moment we are using by Pure Nails with ‘Summer Nights’ colours which include Cerise, Neon Cloud, Neon Green, Neon Pink, Orchid, and Turquoise.

#ELLE’S TIPS ON HOW TO FIX A BROKEN NAIL WITH A TEABAG…

How to fix a broken nail with a teabag from Elle Beauty.

Step 1: Clip the broken nail as close to the fingertip as you can.

Step 2: Using a glass or crystal file, gently file any snags, but be sure to avoid the split itself.

Step 3: Trim a tea bag or paper coffee filter to the size of a small patch that can cover the break in the nail.

Step 4: Paint the broken nail with a generous coat of clear polish.

Step 5: While the clear polish is tacky, gently place the trimmed tea bag/coffee filter over the broken part of the nail (It may be helpful to use a tweezer to hold and apply the tea bag segment).

Step 6: Allow it to dry. Then cover the nail with one or two more coats of clear polish.

Step 7: After the clear polish has dried you can polish with the color of your choice to camouflage the tea bag.
